WHO WE ARE
One Small Act Miami County, OH is a volunteer-led, 501(c)(3) nonprofit rooted in the belief that meaningful change begins with people showing up for one another. We bring together the citizens of Miami County to create systemic change through community building, mutual aid, and elevating the voices of marginalized communities.
Founded on the idea that no act of kindness is too small, our work focuses on meeting immediate needs while also addressing the deeper issues that create them. From supporting neighbors facing food insecurity or isolation, to fostering connections that strengthen our community fabric, we believe compassion paired with action can change lives.
At our core, we are neighbors helping neighbors—listening first, responding with dignity, and working collaboratively to ensure everyone in Miami County feels seen, supported, and valued. Through collective care and shared responsibility, One Small Act is building a more connected, equitable, and hopeful Miami County—one small act at a time
WHAT WE DO
MEAL IN A BAG DELIVERY
We deliver a meal in a bag, complete with non-perishable items and a recipe card to 25 families in Miami County every week.
FREE COMMUNITY EVENTS
We offer free events to help our community connect and a chance for a free hot meal. These events include an outdoor movie series, a community Friendsgiving and Pictures with Santa. We look forward to bringing more events to Miami County in 2026.
MUTUAL AID & COMMUNITY PROGRAMS
We provide mutual aid to members in our local community by hosting clothing and hygiene drives throughout the year and offering community programs such as our Santa’s Helper program where we were able to bring Christmas magic to 29 Miami County children in 2025.

Andrea shock
We are shining a spotlight on someone who has become such an integral part of One Small Act Miami County — Andrea Shock, our Impact & Outreach Coordinator!
Andrea is one of those people who doesn’t just talk about building a stronger community — she shows up and does the work. She generously gives her time, energy, compassion, and creativity to help make our mission possible.
From helping coordinate volunteers and connecting with other organizations to create coordinated action, to packing Meal In A Bag, supporting community programs, reaching out to community members, and stepping in wherever she’s needed — Andrea is always ready to help.
And Andrea isn’t just helping make our programs happen — she’s also the visionary behind our Shockingly Simple Cake Kits program! She saw an opportunity to bring a little joy and connection to families in our community and turned that idea into a program that gives people the chance to create something special together.
But what makes Andrea so special goes beyond everything she does. She brings heart, empathy, dependability, creativity, and a genuine belief in people to everything she takes on. She understands that creating meaningful change is about relationships, listening, showing up, and working together.
Andrea has a gift for seeing where there is a need and asking, “What can we do?” And then she helps make it happen.
We are incredibly grateful to have Andrea on our team and to call her part of the One Small Act family. Our organization — and our community — is stronger because she is here.
